Stage-ervaring van Tatiana Studyanikova
I am a student of the International Business School at the Russian Plekhanov Academy of Economics. Last year, I was attending a Double Degree Program at Hanze University of Groningen. In fact, this is the final year of my Bachelor. By the end of my studies, I will receive two diplomas, one in Economics and the other one in Business Administration.
Taking into account that I am specializing in International Business, Gasunie was a perfect place for me to start my career. Even though several years ago Gasunie was mainly focused on the Netherlands, presently the company is involved in a number of international projects. After almost two months of working experience within Gasunie, I can definitely say that this company is globally oriented.
I am doing my internship in the Finance and Control department. The research I am working on relates to the Tariff System of Working Hours. The topic of my investigation is an extensive and challenging one, while at once extremely interesting. It requires knowledge and understanding in very different areas, such as Corporate Finance, Accounting, Taxes and Regulations.
Since the first days of my internship, my colleagues enthousiastically introduced me to their daily tasks and the organizational structure of the company. This way, I learned a lot about the organization in a short time. I was never limited with the duties directly related to my investigation, and was encouraged to learn more about Gasunie and the working processes within the company. Taking into account, that this is my first working experience, I consider it a very valuable approach.
The specific thing I noticed about Gasunie, is the way employees are treated here. For me Gasunie is a company that cares to provide you with a stable and secure future.
What I really liked about this company is the friendly working environment, which lacks evident hierarchy and where everyone is willing to help you.
Most of my colleagues are specialists, for whom it is not just a job, but way of living. At Gasunie, employees are not interested in simply conducting day to day tasks, but they are always seeking ways to improve their working processes.
Before my experience within Gasunie, I thought that financial departments within companies are usually disconnected from the companies’ primary mission and operate pretty much stand-alone. Fortunately, my experience as an intern at Gasunie showed that this doensn’t have to be the case. At Gasunie, all of the employees have an overall view concerning gas transmission activities, including financial experts.
If I was given a second chance to look for a company to do my internship, I would definitely make the same choice and come to Gasunie again!
